On Friday 4th November 2011, the day’s cloudy start gave way to glorious sunshine in time for 50 or so people
to gather outside Ickenham Village Hall, where the Reverend Ken Tombs, Honorary Curate of St Giles’ Church, Ickenham,
unveiled a plaque dedicated to the memory of John Gloster and Tom Upton.

On 12 September Glebe Allotmenteers
had a "Cake Eating Party". We had prepared too many cakes for our Open Evening in June and the left-overs
needed eating after having kept in the freezer since then, so about 30 of us made the sacrifice: it was truly a most delicious
experience! St Peter sent us delightful weather for the afternoon and the plots looked almost as good as the Show in
the Village Hall on the day before. Our Chairman and fellow allotmenteer Graham provided most of the splendid raffle
prizes and the top prize was a knitted soft toy "Roland Rat the Gardner", donated by Linda French. We did have
such fun!!!
